These dishpans are 5 1/2" tall, which is a bit taller than some other 14 QT dishpans. I have some Sterilite dishpans. These Doryh pans are made out of a thicker, higher quality plastic. I've filled them with water and carried them outside with no hint of the top sides (where I was holding them) giving way. They have a shallow bump on each bottom corner on outside, to allow for water flow underneath, which is handy for using in the sink. The interior bottom is only 8 1/2" to 9 1/2" wide, which is standard for 14 qt dishpans. But that means when I wash dishes, my 11" dinner plates won't lay down flat fully in the bottom of the pan. One of my pics shows that my 9" rimmed salad-soup dishes lay fully down in the bottom. The other shows that my 11" dinner plate doesn't quite lay down flat. But if I fill the pan almost to top, I can soak almost all the 11" plate. I just have to turn it after a few minutes, if I need to soak it. The black is very shiny and looks great in my kitchen with black and silver appliances. I wish they made these in a slightly larger size. One more thing: I poured water from a 1 gallon jug into the pan. Two full jugs poured into the pan up to the top line that you can see in the picture of the clear pans. That's only 8 quarters of water. So I don't know why they're called 14 qt pans. Maybe all pans are measured some way that implies they hold more water than they do. Or maybe they hold 14 quarts of a solid substance like soil?
